About Us

We are a small, friendly BHS approved livery yard and riding school in Shedfield catering for all needs of rider from complete beginners to competent riders wishing to further their knowledge or compete in different disciplines.

We hold many activities for the children including Pony Care Days, Fun & Games Afternoons, Teddy Bears’ Picnics and more.

For adults we hold a Coffee Morning every Friday at 11am, evening groups for various abilities, including adult groups and jump lessons. For more details of specific events, please visit the ‘Shedfield Riding School News’ page.

Lessons: We run a range of lessons for all abilities of riders. Our 15 minute walk-abouts are popular for the younger riders that haven’t ridden before. Group lessons are then available from lead rein sessions to hour lessons for the advanced rider. We also offer private and semi-private lessons as well as lots of clinics and activities at the weekends and during the holidays. Give us a ring or send us an email for more details about specific lesson enquiries.

Coffee Mornings: This is very popular with the ladies on a Friday morning – the coffee morning consists of an hour riding lesson then relaxing break with coffee and cake afterwards!

Pony Care Days: These are always popular with the children during the holidays! The youngsters get to experience a typical day on the yard from mucking out and making haynets to grooming, tacking up and riding. Visit the ‘Shedfield Riding School News’ page for upcoming dates – these always run during the school holidays.

Teddy Bears’ Picnics: A lovely, relaxing alternative to a lesson for the younger children – take a walk through the woods and around the fields on some nice quiet ponies followed by a picnic outdoors (weather permitting). Don’t forget to bring your teddy!

Pony Club: We are an official Pony Club Centre and run a session every Saturday from 2pm-5pm for the youngsters. Members work towards equine & non-equine badges as well as their riding achievements. We find that The Pony Club is a great way for children to have fun and learn more about the ponies whilst really getting involved.

Horse ball: Every Monday evening we run horse ball sessions. You can participate our riding school horses or you can bring your own horse along! A fun evening training – so why not try something different?

Stage Training: We hold sessions training people for their BHS exams, usually in 8 week slots. We also run training and hold exams for the BHS Ride & Road Safety Exam. Keep an eye our events calendar for upcoming dates!

Regular Dressage and Pole work Clinics: These are a fun alternative to everyday lessons and a great way to improve rhythm, control and balance. These include clinics with our onsite instructors plus regular clinics with Jezz Palmer, Jess Gale and Mark Hallion

Shows: We hold regular shows onsite throughout the year including  monthly unaffiliated Dressage and monthly unaffiliated Show Jumping and Combined Training. We hold our ever popular Summer Show every year as well as a Fun Show for the children, a Halloween Show and a Winter Woolies later on in the year.

Birthday Parties: BirthdayWhy not treat your pony mad child to something totally different? We hold birthday parties for children aged 4+. Our birthday packages include a 1 hour session consisting of grooming and tacking up, riding instruction and gymkhana games, races and activities, followed by food and birthday cake if required.
